Evenepoel’s greatest hits: 5 iconic wins with QuickStep
With the news that Remco Evenepoel leaves Soudal - QuickStep for pastures new at Red Bull - Bora - Hansgrohe, let's take a look back on some of Evenepoel's best victories from his 7 years competing in the Wolfpack colours.

1. A first ever Grand Tour win
2022 was quite the year for Remco Evenepoel, with numerous key victories across that racing year, with the pick of the bunch being his general classification victory at La Vuelta. Evenepoel won the red jersey by over 2 minutes ahead of Enric Mas after his nearest competitor, Primož Roglič, abandoned after stage 16.
With many experts in cycling even rating Evenepoel's chances at winning a grand tour at a low percentage, Evenepoel duly delivered on breaking those expert expectations to go on to claim a grand tour at just 22-years-old, the launch pad to victory being his stage 10 ITT win, completely obliterating the competition out of the park. But the big question that remains now, can Evenepoel win another grand tour in his career, or will this Vuelta be his only grand tour victory?
2. Liège-Bastogne-Liège 2022 - His first monument
Trademark Remco Evenepoel. A vicious attack from 29 kilometres to go propelled his assault to secure a first ever monument, the attack is something we have not seen as much in recent years from Evenepoel, with the injuries taking their toll on his pure explosivity. What was most impressive about this particular win for Evenepoel was the belief and confidence to back himself to soar solo, winning alone by 48 seconds over a reduced bunch led in by Quinten Hermans.
In 2023, he repeated the feat, this time, in the rainbow bands as the world road-race champion complimented with white bib shorts, quite the risk in the unpredictable Ardennes. We've ranked the 2022 win higher as it was Evenepoel's first Monument victory.
3. A Tour stage at last
The 2024 Tour de France, still it feels like it happened yesterday, but a year on this can be seen as a defining moment of Evenepoel's Soudal-QuickStep career, to achieve his first ever Tour de France stage.
The stage itself, was a 25.3 kilometre race against the clock, with the pressure immense on the big pre-stage favourite Evenepoel. He certainly delivered in style on those pre-race expectations, winning the stage by 12 seconds ahead of Tadej Pogačar. There was, however, a brief heart stopping moment when a minor mechanical issue threatened to snatch glory away, but Evenepoel remained calm at that brief scare.
The 'aero bullet' is almost a 99% guarantee for further stage victories at the Tour editions especially now he'll be working with aero guru and TT specialist,Dan Bingham. With his assistance the 'aero bullet' could turn hypersonic, further time trial stage wins close to inevitable.
4. Clásica Ciclista San Sebastián 2019
A WorldTour victory for a 19-year-old Remco Evenepoel, cemented his status as the golden boy of Belgian cycling at that time, even beating Greg Van Avermaet, the 2016 Olympic champion. The Clásica San Sebastián, is a race that is almost tailor made for Evenepoel and his punchy style, after his 2019 victory, Evenepoel added to his account at this race by winning the 2022 and 2023 editions, respectively.
However, the 2019 victory is when Evenepoel truly announced himself to the cycling world, building on his double success at the 2018 World Championships in Innsbruck, where he won both junior titles. It's a question of when not if regarding Evenepoel adding more victories at the Clásica San Sebastián to his account.
5. The Belgian tricolour - 2023 Belgian road-race
Yet again, this race was another showcase of textbook Remco Evenepoel.
A daring attack lead him to the Belgian road-race title in 2023, after coming close in years prior with podium finishes. This victory was a real showcase of determination and passion to achieve the goal, with this victory coming on terrain which was not suited perfectly to his liking.
On the flatter side, the course allowed Evenepoel to utilise his TT prowess and skills to maintain his effort, his audacious attack beating Alec Segaert in Izegem. In recent years, Evenepoel has tried a similar approach in the Belgian road-race, most notably in 2025 where he attacked from afar with a number of riders, but didn't succeed due to a crash where he fractured a rib. That injury led to Evenepoel withdrawing from the 2025 Tour, his last ever grand tour with Soudal-Qucikstep.
