Stage 3 is the longest of the race at 207.2 km with nearly 3,000 metres of climbing. Starting in Brioude, where Pöstlberger won solo in 2021, it features five climbs, mostly early on. The final ascent, Côte du Château Jaune (1.6 km at 6.4%), comes 20 km from the finish in Charantonnay. A reduced sprint is possible, but a strong break could survive.
The stage starts at 12:15 CET and is expected to finish around 17:10 CET.
