Arnaud Tendon stunned the peloton in the rain soaked Tour de Provence opener, staying clear from an early break with Mattia Bais and outsprinting him in Saint Victoret just as the bunch arrived. It was the first win of his career, and he carries the leader’s jersey into stage 2 with five seconds on Bais and 11 on Luke Lamperti.
