Paula Blasi claimed her first WorldTour victory with a commanding ride in the opening mountain time trial at the Tour de Romandie Féminin. The UAE Team ADQ rider stopped the clock in 11:17 on the 4.4km climb to Villars-sur-Ollon, beating Urška Žigart and Juliette Labous. The stage was overshadowed by the disqualification of five teams after a dispute with the UCI over GPS tracking devices, leaving just 63 riders in the race.
