Tadej Pogacar extended his overall lead at the Critérium du Dauphiné with another victory at Valmeinier 1800. The world champion dropped Jonas Vingegaard with 12km to go to tighten his grip on the race.
Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) is a more commanding leader at the Critérium du Dauphiné thanks to another victory at Valmeinier 1800 on stage 7. His win on the summit finish sees him extend his lead over Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) to 1:01.
Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) remains third overall, albeit now at 2:21, while Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep) is 4:11 down in fourth place.
Tobias Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility) impressed to move up to fifth overall at 5:55, while junior time trial world champion Paul Seixas (Decathlon-AG2R) is now sixth at 6:50.
Pogacar leads the points classification, albeit level on points with Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck), who will wear the green jersey on his behalf on stage 8. Pogacar is also the new leader of the king of the mountains, while Lipowitz is the white jersey of best young rider, and Visma | Lease a Bike are still top of the team classification.
