The Giro d'Italia Women is one of the most prestigious races on the Women's WorldTour calendar, and the start list of this 36th edition is a strong one, with the notable return of last year's winner, Italian champion, Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) and four time winner Anna van der Breggen (SD Worx-Protime) who returns from retirement. Giro d'Italia Women stage 2 results and standings
The 2025 Giro d'Italia Women continued with a the shortest road stage of the week, a 92km race between Clusone and Aprica, in the lower peaks of the Alps.
With 40km to go, Anna Henderson (Lidl-Trek) escaped the peloton with Dilyxine Miermont (Ceratizit Pro Cycling), the pair building a maximum lead of three minutes. However, though their lead began to drop on the final, 14km climb to Aprica, the pair held on, Henderson out-sprinting her rival to take the overall leader's maglia rosa.
