Live recap: Tour de France 2025 - Stage 5: Evenepoel takes stage win, Pogacar in yellow!
Stage 5 of the 2025 Tour de France is a 33km individual time trial, with just over 200 metres of elevation gain around Caen in Normandy. The first rider (Yevgeniy Fedorov) will be off the line at 13:05 whilst the stage is expected to finish at around approximately 17:40 CET when the the yellow jersey Mathieu van der Poel crosses the finish line.

The 33km time trial is flat, fast and relatively devoid of technical difficulties as it loops out of Caen towards Thaon before turning back into the city. The roads, by and large, are wide and smooth, and the total elevation gain is less than 200m. A day for the purest of time triallists, read more of our stage 5 preview.
