Oscar Onley is set to make his debut for Ineos Grenadiers at the Volta ao Algarve, which takes place from February 18-22. The Scot will join a line-up that includes fellow new arrival Kévin Vauquelin as well as Thymen Arensman and Filippo Ganna.

Ineos have so far declined requests to furnish any information about Onley’s 2026 race schedule, but Daniel Benson reports the Scot has been named on the provisional start list for the Volta ao Algarve. Ineos has not yet responded to a request from Domestique to confirm the line-up.

In a recent episode of his Watts Occurring podcast, the team’s new head of racing Geraint Thomas indicated that Paris-Nice and the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes will also feature on Onley's 2026 schedule. It is expected that Onley will lead Ineos at the Tour de France, where he placed fourth overall in 2025.

Ineos signed Onley in December after reaching an agreement to buy out the final two years of his contract with Picnic-PostNL. The 24-year-old is in his fourth season as a professional.

Ben Turner, Bob Jungels and Kim Heiduk will also be part of a strong Ineos roster at the Volta ao Algarve, which features a 19.5km time trial in Vilamoura on stage 3 as well as the traditional summit finishes on the Alto da Foia and the Alto do Malhão.

João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), Juan Ayuso (Lidl-Trek), Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) and Matthew Riccitello (Decathlon CMA CGM) all feature in one of the deepest UCI ProSeries fields of the season.

Derek Gee-West had been initially slated to make his Lidl-Trek debut in the Algarve, but the Canadian will instead line out at the UAE Tour next week.

The Volta ao Algarve was won last year by Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike), but the Dane is an absentee in 2026. He had been scheduled to ride the UAE Tour, but he has delayed the start of his season citing a recent crash and illness.
