TotalEnergies to end team sponsorship after 2026 season
TotalEnergies and SA Vendée Cyclisme, the entity behind Team TotalEnergies, will part ways at the end of the 2026 season after a decade-long partnership.

The French multinational integrated energy and petroleum company has served as the French cycling team’s title sponsor since 2019, following three seasons as Direct Energie, which was integrated into TotalEnergies.
During this period, since 2019, the Vendée-based team achieved multiple WorldTour-level victories, including the gravel stage 9 of the 2024 Tour de France won by Anthony Turgis, and in 2025 finished 10th in GC with Jordan Jegat.
Team general manager Jean-René Bernaudeau, who founded the squad in 2000, expressed gratitude while looking to secure the team's future beyond 2026.
"We are grateful to TotalEnergies for their trust during all these years spent together. I will cherish the memories of these wonderful times and these wonderful encounters," said Bernaudeau in a statement "I am, of course, already looking ahead to 2027 and am determined to perpetuate our history."
Bernaudeau remains confident about finding new partners with the partnership ending after the 2026 season, adding: "Our uniqueness, our values, our education and training policy, and our sporting development trajectory are all assets that will convince brands to embark on the adventure with us."
TotalEnergies' communications director Bertrand Blaise explained the company's shifting sponsorship strategy as a factor in the decision.
"We are grateful for the emotions we have experienced alongside Jean-René Bernaudeau's team as title sponsor throughout these 10 years of collaboration punctuated by numerous successes... not forgetting those to come next season, which we intend to share with the passionate public who support us," said Blaise.
He added that the energy giant's focus was changing following its recently announced partnership with the Tour de France: "Our sponsorship strategy is evolving with our partnership with the Tour de France announced in June, allowing us to strengthen our network with the 12 million spectators on the Tour de France route."
In June 2025, TotalEnergies and the Ineos Grenadiers announced a jersey partnership, which saw the British team's kit for the Vuelta a España feature TotalEnergies.
