Vuelta a España 2025: Standings after stage 12 - Pedersen takes a firm grasp on the green jersey

Stage 12 was a day for the breakaway with the GC action on the stage limited to nothing. Mads Pedersen gained ground in his efforts to win the green jersey picking his major points in the breakaway effort.

The general classification battle remained the same situation as the neutralised stage 11 with Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) made it another successful defence of the red jersey. João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates - XRG)  still sits 50 seconds off in second with the Brit Tom Pidcock (Q36.5) 56 seconds off in third place.

Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) took a firm grasp on the green jersey picking up 38 points via his breakaway efforts, 20 points from the intermediate sprint and 18 points from finishing  5th on the stage.  With that, the Dane extending his total to 173 points with a 62 point advantage over Ethan Vernon (Israel Premier Tech) in second.
