Vuelta a España 2025: Standings after stage 4 - Gaudu takes red from Vingegaard
David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) is the new leader of the Vuelta a España after he finished ahead of Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) on stage 4 to Voiron, won by Ben Turner (Ineos) in a bunch sprint.

Gaudu drew level on time with Vingegaard after winning stage 3 to Ceres and he needed to finish more than eight places ahead of the Dane on Tuesday’s finale to move into the red jersey.
He had signalled his intentions by unsuccessfully contesting the bonus sprint, and he was always well placed in the final kilometres, doing enough to divest Vingegaard of red by placing 25th on the stage, while his rival placed 42nd.
Vingegaard is now second overall, on the same time as Gaudu, while Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) is third at eight seconds.
Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) moved into the green jersey of points leader thanks to winning the intermediate sprint and then sixth in Voiron
Joel Nicolau (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) is the new leader in the king of the mountains thanks to his exploits in the early break.
Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) remains in the white jersey of best young rider, while Visma | Lease a Bike continue to lead the team classification.
The Vuelta transfers to Spain on Tuesday evening ahead of the 24.1km team time trial in Figueres on stage 5.
