About us
Domestique is created by people who live and breathe cycling. Seeing the cycling media struggling, we set out to build something different: a platform that puts the sport first, shares its value fairly, and gives a voice to those who are most engaged with the sport. This is our story. But more importantly, it's yours too.

What is Domestique Cycling?
Domestique is the voice of cycling. A new digital platform by and for cycling pros, creators and fans. It brings together all the news, live race updates, results, interviews, stats and in-depth stories - all powered by an editorial team that understands the sport beyond the headlines.
What makes Domestique different? The people who create the content share in the revenue it generates. Because we believe cycling’s richness comes from the voices around it: the ones who’ve raced it, who write its history, who live for tactics, who are deeply connected to the world’s most beautiful sport.
What does "domestique" mean?
In cycling, a "domestique" is the rider who works selflessly for the benefit of others - a role built on loyalty, strategy and teamwork. Often overlooked, but essential to every victory.
That’s the spirit we live by. As a platform, Domestique doesn’t seek the spotlight. We’re here to support the ones who deserve it - the riders, the creators, the fans. We provide the platform, the reach and the revenue model so they can shine. Just like a true domestique.
Who is the founder of Domestique?
Domestique was founded by Michiel van Looijengoed (facilitated by On Your Marks). With over a decade of experience across brands, teams and federations, Michiel combines a deep love for cycling with a creative approach to business models and digital product innovation in sport.
How was Domestique funded and who owns Domestique?
In early 2025, we launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring Domestique to life. Within two months, over 100 people joined the ride and raised more than €300,000. Today, they co-own the platform together with the original founders - a collective effort that reflects the spirit of the project itself.
Who runs the editorial team?
The editorial team is led by Barry Ryan, a seasoned cycling journalist with over 20 years of experience covering the WorldTour. Together with a team of trusted editors, he curates the latest updates with a sharp eye and journalistic integrity.
What’s our journalistic code of conduct?
We follow a strict editorial code based on transparency, fairness and fact-based reporting. Read more here.
What’s our revenue model?
Domestique shares content revenue with its contributors (creators and riders). The more impact their content has, the more they earn. We fund the platform through brand partnerships, advertising and Domestique products (merchandise, cycling apparel, travel, etc.) which we will start to develop in the next phases.
