Barry Ryan

Domestique

I am editor-in-chief of Domestique. I have covered professional cycling since 2010, reporting from the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and all manner of events from Bogotá to Beijing. I previously worked for Cyclingnews, and my writing has appeared in publications including Procycling, The Independent, Rouleur and Miroir du Cyclisme.

I am the author of 'The Ascent: Sean Kelly, Stephen Roche and the Rise of Irish Cycling's Golden Generation,' published by Gill Books. Early cycling memories include watching Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche race up St Patrick’s Hill in Cork at the Nissan Classic, and I believe the final half hour of Milan-San Remo is the high point of every season.
