I worked in academia in a past life before swapping the library for the press room in 2010. I have covered professional cycling ever since, reporting from the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and all manner of events from Bogotá to Beijing. Early cycling memories include watching Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche race up St Patrick’s Hill in Cork at the Nissan Classic, and I believe the final half hour of Milan-San Remo is the high point of every season.
