23 January 2026 marks the start of the European season with the Clàssica Camp de Morvedre, and this year’s start list is stacked, with Michael Matthews for Jayco AlUla, Christian Scaroni for XDS Astana, and Iván Romeo for Movistar all lining up. The 163 kilometre route packs almost 2,400 metres of climbing and centres on the Alto del Garbí, tackled three times. At 5.1 kilometres with an average gradient of 9.2%, it is a brutal test from the gun, setting up a race for puncheurs, classics specialists, and climbers.
