Stage 6 may be labelled ‘hilly’, but with over 2,800 metres of climbing and five categorised ascents — including a summit finish — it’s a serious GC test. The stage begins in Valserhône with an uphill start and little flat terrain, likely sparking an aggressive fight for the breakaway. The key climb in the middle is the Côte du Mont-Saxonnex (5.4km at 8.7%), followed by a tough finale: the Côte de Domancy (2.4km at 8.6%) into the Côte de la Cry (2.7km at 8.2%) with barely any respite in between. Expect gaps in the GC and a high chance of shake-ups before the decisive weekend.
