The 2025 Giro d’Italia Women got off to a dream start for one of the top favourites, as Marlen Reusser (Movistar) dominated the opening time trial in Bergamo. The Swiss specialist lived up to expectations on the 14.2km course, clocking a winning time of 17:22. Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) came closest, finishing 12 seconds adrift, while Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) took third at 16 seconds down.

Stage 1 of the Giro d’Italia Women opens with a 13.6 km individual time trial in Bergamo. The course is technical and fast, featuring wide urban roads, tight U-turns and sweeping corners. Riders face a short climb near the historic upper town before descending back into the city. The finish line is set on the iconic Sentierone, a central promenade in Bergamo.
