Brandon McNulty won the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal after Tadej Pogačar first went solo before waiting to help his teammate in the finale. The victory marked UAE Team Emirates’ 85th win of the season, equalling the all-time record set by Columbia-HTC in 2009. Pogačar, despite finishing runner-up, played the decisive role in securing the American’s triumph.

What we said beforehand

On September 14, 2025, attention turns to Mount Royal for the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal, one of the most gruelling one-day races on the calendar. Riders face 18 laps and nearly 4,800 metres of climbing, a profile that mirrors a Tour de France mountain stage. Tadej Pogačar, reigning champion and joint record-holder with two wins, aims to strengthen his grip on the event, while challengers hope to use the punishing circuit as a final rehearsal before the World Championships.
