Tadej Pogačar made history with his fifth consecutive Il Lombardia victory, becoming the first rider ever to win the same monument five times in a row. Attacking on the Passo di Ganda, the World Champion soloed to the finish in Bergamo to claim his 20th win of the season, with Remco Evenepoel and Michael Storer completing the podium after another dominant display from cycling’s leading force.

The 2025 edition of Il Lombardia, the last Monument classic of the cycling season, is scheduled for Saturday, 11 October 2025. This year’s course will take riders from Como to Bergamo, covering 241 km and 4,400 meters of elevation across the challenging hills of Lombardy. Tadej Pogačar, who has won the last four editions in a row, will aim to match the all-time record of five Il Lombardia victories held by Fausto Coppi with a win, with Remco Evenepoel as his main challenger.
