Route
The 2026 Tirreno Adriatico route offers a varied parcours that mixes time trialing, sprint opportunities and decisive climbing stages. The race begins with the traditional 11.5 km individual time trial in Lido di Camaiore, where the first gaps in the general classification are expected. Stage two introduces early tension with an uphill gravel finish in San Gimignano that should favour punchy riders and GC contenders. The longest stage follows between Cortona and Magliano de Marsi, where sprinters will hope to survive the rolling terrain for a bunch sprint.
The race becomes more selective from stage four onwards. After early climbs in the Apennines, the finale toward Martinsicuro includes several steep walls that could split the peloton. Stage five around Mombaroccio features repeated climbs and nearly 4000 metres of elevation. The decisive stage is likely stage six to Camerino, finishing atop the steep Madonna delle Carceri wall. The race traditionally concludes with a sprint stage in San Benedetto del Tronto.
