Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) claimed stage 2 of the Tour with a blistering uphill sprint in Boulogne-sur-Mer, beating Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard. The race exploded in the punchy finale, and the Dutchman proved strongest on the steep final kilometre, taking his first Tour stage win since 2021.
