Stage 2 Tour de Suisse 2025
16.06
Despite 2,700 metres of climbing, stage 2 unfolded as expected with a bunch sprint. A breakaway of Dillier, Rutsch and Schmid was kept under control throughout the day. Jan Christen launched a bold solo attack with 2.5 km to go but was caught just before the line. In the final sprint, Vincenzo Albanese powered to victory ahead of Christen and Askey.
What we said about Stage 2 on beforehand
Stage 2 starts in Aarau, hometown of Silvan Dillier, and features 2,700 metres of climbing over 177km — a tough test even for punchy sprinters. The Guggisberg climb, 50km from the finish, could thin the field before a steady rise to Schwarzsee. A fast final 500 metres may favour reduced group sprints, depending on how hard the GC riders race it.
