Baptiste Veistroffer (Lotto Intermarché) won stage 2 of the Tour of Oman to Yitti Hills after launching a late attack from the day’s early break, and he takes over the race lead. He held on up the final climb despite a headwind, finishing 17 seconds ahead of Henok Mulubrhan, with Thibaud Gruel third. Veistroffer now wears the leader’s jersey, but faces a tough test on Monday with the steep finish on Eastern Mountain.
