Route
The Trofeo Laigueglia covers just under 200 kilometres along the Ligurian coast and offers an early season mix of endurance and climbing. The Cipressa comes up relatively early, and its descent gives riders a useful benchmark as they build towards Milano Sanremo later in the spring.
In the finale the race moves onto a local circuit that is tackled four times. Each lap includes the Colla Micheri, 1.9 kilometres at an average of 8.6 percent, crested less than nine kilometres from the finish and often the place where the decisive move is made. Capo Mele also features on this closing loop, another climb known from Milan-San Remo, before a fast downhill run brings the riders back into Laigueglia for the finish.

Favourites
Romain Grégoire lines up as the headline favourite after his recent win at the Faun Drôme Classic, where he produced a sharp finish to beat Matteo Jorgenson. The short, punchy climbs in the finale suit him perfectly.
Christian Scaroni, runner up last year, knows the roads well and arrives in form after strong climbing displays earlier this season, making him a clear threat.
Antonio Tiberi also starts with momentum after an impressive UAE Tour and has the rare mix of climbing strength and a fast finish if the race comes down to a reduced sprint.
If the finale proves less selective, Alex Aranburu and Andrea Vendrame could come into play.
