Isaac del Toro shocked the sprinters to win stage 1 of the 2026 UAE Tour at Liwa Palace, blasting clear late on the rising finish and holding off Cees Bol, with Antonio Tiberi third. A crash inside the final kilometre took down stage favourite Jonathan Milan, while Remco Evenepoel came home safely after the stage was cut short by high winds. Del Toro carries the red jersey into Tuesday’s 12km time trial, four seconds ahead of Bol and 10 seconds clear of Evenepoel.
