Iván Romeo won stage 2 of the Vuelta a Andalucía from the breakaway after the peloton split into multiple groups and the chase lacked cohesion. He attacked inside the final kilometre to drop Andreas Leknessund and take the stage win. Romeo now leads the general classification by 54 seconds heading into stage 3, which features several climbs.
