Milan Fretin won stage 3 of the Vuelta a Andalucía Ruta del Sol after a tight uphill bunch sprint in Lopera, beating Paul Penhoët and Christophe Laporte. Visma’s lead out looked set to deliver Laporte, but a late shuffle left Fretin best positioned to time his kick perfectly. Iván Romeo finished safely in the peloton to keep the overall lead, seven seconds ahead of Andreas Leknessund and 50 seconds clear of Laporte.
