Stage 11 Vuelta a España 2025

03.09

Stage 11 of the Vuelta a España was neutralised in Bilbao, with no stage winner declared after pro-Palestine protests raised safety concerns near the finish. Tom Pidcock shone on the Alto de Pike, distancing race leader Jonas Vingegaard and taking six bonus seconds before the pair linked up on the descent. Despite the unusual circumstances, both Pidcock and Vingegaard gained valuable time on their general classification rivals.

What we said beforehand

Stage 11 brings a short but explosive day in the Basque Country, with seven categorised climbs packed into 167 kilometres around Bilbao. The route includes the Alto de Vivero and Alto de Pike, last seen in the 2023 Tour de France Grand Départ. With the final summit 8km from the finish, expect attacks on the climbs and chaos on the descent.
