Stage 14 Vuelta a España 2025

06.09

Marc Soler claimed victory on stage 14 of the Vuelta a España at La Farrapona, giving UAE Team Emirates-XRG their seventh win of the race. Jonas Vingegaard outsprinted João Almeida to secure second place and extend his lead in the overall standings to 48 seconds. Jai Hindley’s late attack brought him closer to Tom Pidcock in the battle for the podium.

What we said beforehand

Stage 14 is a shorter but still punishing mountain test at 135km, coming straight after the Angliru. Two category one climbs in the final third shape the day, with the Puertu de San Llaurienzu leading into the summit finish on La Farrapona, where the gradients ramp up before the official climb begins. La Farrapona has seen decisive moments in the past, most memorably Contador’s 2014 victory over Froome, and could once again play a key role in the GC battle.
