Stage 15 Vuelta a España 2025

07.09

Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) won stage 15 of the Vuelta a España in Monforte de Lemos, emerging from a 47-rider breakaway. After bridging to the front group and marking multiple late attacks, the Dane proved strongest in the sprint, beating Orluis Aular and Marco Frigo. It is his first stage win of this Vuelta, extending his lead in the points classification.

What we said beforehand

Stage 15 opens with the Puerto A Garganta, setting a tough tone from the start, with most of the climbing packed into the first half. The profile favours a successful breakaway, and the fight to form it could be long and punishing. The flat run to Monforte de Lemos still offers chances for late attacks in the final 40km. Magnus Cort last won here in 2021 from a seven-rider breakaway sprint.
