Matthew Brennan powered to his first Grand Tour stage victory on stage 2 of the Vuelta a España, beating Pau Miquel and Tadej Pogačar in the uphill sprint in Manosque. Ethan Hayter briefly moved into the virtual race lead after taking bonus seconds from the breakaway, but was caught before the finish. Pogačar finished third and retained the red leader’s jersey.
