World Championship Road Race Women 2025

27.09

Magdeleine Vallieres (Canada) won the elite women’s road race at the World Championships in Kigali with a decisive attack on the final cobbled climb, 2.5km from the finish. She dropped breakaway rivals Niamh Fisher-Black (New Zealand) and Mavi García (Spain), who completed the podium. The pre-race favourites, including Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Demi Vollering, missed the decisive move and never regained control. For Vallieres, just 24 years old, it was only the second victory of her professional career.
