At Domestique, we believe cycling deserves honest, independent and inspiring storytelling. That’s why our journalism, commentary and content follow a clear set of ethical principles.
We aim to report and comment on cycling without fear or favour. Whether it’s breaking news, rider insights or personal reflections, we strive to be fair, fact-based and transparent. Domestique welcomes a range of voices and opinions, but all content must be rooted in verifiable information.
Our contributors - including pro riders, journalists, creators and analysts - may be insiders, but they are never mouthpieces. We do not publish content influenced by sponsors, commercial partners or vested interests. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed clearly.
We attribute sources, ideas and statistics to their original creators. We don’t copy, plagiarise or repackage the work of others. When others inspire us, we name them. That includes competitors - because crediting good work only strengthens trust in our own.
Whether you're a current pro, an ex-rider, or a freelance journalist, we ask all contributors to disclose affiliations or personal interests that could affect how a topic is presented. If you’re unsure whether to include a disclaimer, include it.
We aim to represent all parties in any story or discussion. Criticism is part of journalism, but we always seek to include the right of reply - especially when the subject is personal or reputational.
Accuracy is a cornerstone of our credibility. If a mistake slips through, we correct it promptly and transparently. Readers and contributors can report factual errors or misleading content at any time via our editorial team.
Editorial content and commercial partnerships are kept strictly separate. Branded content is clearly labelled as such. Our contributors never write or comment on behalf of advertisers, and no article is written in exchange for payment outside the platform’s contributor system.
Domestique may use AI-assisted tools to support research, summarisation and editorial workflows, but not to replace human judgment, reporting or authorship. All published content is created and reviewed by real people. If AI tools meaningfully shape the output, we will disclose this transparently.
This code applies to all Domestique contributors and partners. It is intended as a foundation, not a legal contract. When in doubt, we ask our contributors to use their best judgement and always act in the interest of the sport, the reader and the truth.
In a time of paywalls, we believe in the power of free content. Through our innovative model and creative approach to brands, we ensure they are seen as a valuable addition by the community rather than a commercial interruption. This way, Domestique remains accessible to everyone, our partners are satisfied, and we can continue to grow. We hope you’ll support the brands that make this possible.
