The gear behind the glory: the bikes of the 2025 Tour de France

The Tour de France is a gear lover’s dream. From bikes and wheels to shoes and bottle cages, nearly every component is supplied by a specialist brand. In 2025, the peloton features gear from 21 bike brands, 16 wheel brands, seven tire makers and three drivetrain suppliers - not to mention all the clothing, helmets, computers and more.

The tech landscape is always shifting, with new brands entering the fray alongside long-time partners. Below, you'll find a full overview of the 23 teams and the bikes they'll be racing this year.

What's new for 2025?

After a year out of the WorldTour, Campagnolo returns with Cofidis, with the French team using a groupset and wheels provided by the iconic Italian manufacturer after signing a four-year agreement for the start of 2025. Cofidis are the exception to the rule as a majority of the teams will continue to use Shimano's Dura-Ace Di2 R9200 groupsets, whilst SRAM's Red AXS groupset will also be featured by a few teams.

Chinese manufacturer XDS will make its debut at the Tour de France, as a co-title sponsor of the XDS Astana Team, with the riders set to ride its X-Lab branded bikes. This is the only new bike brand for the 2025 edition of the Tour, after ENVE and Van Rysel made their debuts twelve months ago.

2025 Tour de France bikes - Who's riding what?

Canyon and Specialized will be the most represented brands in July, with Alpecin-Deceuninck and Movistar racing on Canyon bikes, while Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe and Soudal Quick-Step will race on Specialized bikes.

Most teams will have two different bikes for road stages: a lightweight climbing bike and an aero bike. As well as this, the teams will have a bike that is specifically designed for time-trialling. There are exceptions to the rule in terms of the fact that some bikes are equally designed for climbing and aerodynamics, such as the Dogma F, used by the INEOS Grenadiers, which Pinarello brands as being made for both scenarios.

Here is an individual look at each of the 23 teams and a more focused look at the equipment that they have been using throughout 2025 and will use at the Tour de France this July. (As of June 18).

What is the price of a Tour de France bike?

If you’re looking to ride the same top-tier bikes as Tadej Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard or Primož Roglic, be prepared to spend between €14,000 and €19,000. These are the premium models used by WorldTour riders, often built with the very best components and custom setups.

Of course, each brand also offers more affordable versions for consumers. Prices can vary slightly by location and there may be differences between pro-level bikes and those available in shops, so the table below should be used as a general reference.

UAE Team Emirates - XRG | Colnago

Tadej Pogačar will return to the Tour de France as defending champion and the favourite for victory once more this July. However, the world champion will be racing on a new bike this time around as Colnago released a new bike for the 2025 season, the Y1Rs, designed specifically for UAE Team Emirates and Pogačar. The Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupsets remain, as do the ENVE wheels and Continental tyres, but there is a change in saddle, as the team switched to Fizik.

The Italian manufacturer has become synonymous with the British team since its inception in 2010, and has been part of seven Tour de France victories. Bradley Wiggins (2012), Chris Froome (2013, 2015-2017), Geraint Thomas (2018), and Egan Bernal (2019) all rode to Tour glory on a Pinarello, making this manufacturer the most successful in Tour de France history. In total, Pinarello bikes have won the Tour on 16 occasions, spanning back to 1988, when Pedro Delgado was victorious.

Cofidis | Look

Look and Cofidis formed a sponsorship partnership for the 2023 season, and the French manufacturer working with a French team seems to be an ideal fit.

A big talking point is the return of Campagnolo to the Tour de France after a total absence twelve months ago. For 2025, Cofidis are back on Campagnolo groupsets and wheels, and will be the only representative of the Italian manufacturer at the Tour de France this July.

Groupama-FDJ | Wilier Triestina

In 2024, Groupama-FDJ began a new era, partnering with Wilier Triestina as their new bike sponsor, after a lengthy partnership with Lapierre bikes. This marks the second season of the sponsorship deal between the French team and the Italian manufacturer.

As of 2025, Wilier Triestina bikes will only be raced by Groupama-FDJ at the Tour de France, after Astana ended their partnership with the Italian manufacturer at the end of 2024. Another notable change is the move from Shimano wheels to Miche, an Italian brand, which is making its debut in the WorldTour.

Intermarché-Wanty | Cube

Intermarché-Wanty and Cube, a German bike manufacturer, have had a long-standing history, which has seen them go from being a small Belgian ProTour team to reach the WorldTour in 2021 and now compete annually at the Tour de France, where they had plenty of success in 2024, winning three stages and the points classification with Biniam Girmay. The team have switched up their tyres for 2025, linking up with Hutchinson, who will replace Continental.

Team Picnic PostNL | Lapierre

At the end of 2024, the Dutch team made the transition from racing on Scott bikes, to the French manufacturer Lapierre. This was off the back of a significant change in the peloton a year earlier, as Lapierre had ended their 22-year partnership with Groupama-FDJ. This means that after a one-year absence, one of the most established bike brands will return to the Tour de France this July, albeit with a new team in the form of Picnic PostNL.
