Five must have riders for your Tour de France fantasy team
Your Tour de France fantasy teams will contain the staples such as the likes of Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard along with the key sprinters such as Jonathan Milan, Tim Merlier and Jasper Philipsen, but who else should you choose for your squad? Domestique is here to help and provide you with some riders for you to win your battle against your family, your friends or your colleagues.

Romain Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ)
The 22-year-old Frenchman, Romain Grégoire has been in fine form so far in the 2025 season with victories at the Faun-Ardèche and the Tour de Suisse. Along with some top results all around, especially in lumpy finishes, Grégoire has demonstrated that he packs quite the punch. The said punch will be a key asset in the opening week of the Tour, with some serious kickers located towards and at the end of some stages. You can expect to see Grégoire right up there in the stage results and perhaps even compete for stage victories on these types of finishes, picking up those vital fantasy points. Grégoire is also no slouch when it comes to getting involved in a breakaway fight evidenced through his two breakaways in WorldTour stage races at the Itzulia Basque Country and Tour de Suisse, respectively.
Kévin Vauquelin (Arkea B&B Hotels)
Kévin Vauquelin is a must have for your Tour de France fantasy teams. A stage winner in the 2024 Tour, there is no reason why he cannot pick up another this July. Very similar to his compatriot, the aforementioned Grégoire, Vauquelin is probably just the tad stronger than Grégoire as a rider. With a heart-breaking 2nd place in the general classification after leading the GC until the final stage at the Tour de Suisse in June. Vauquelin will be aiming to turn that heartbreak into success at the Tour this July.
Bruno Armirail (Decathlon AG2R)
Bruno Armirail loves a breakaway. The recently crowned French individual time trial champion comes into the Tour off the back of a successful Dauphiné where he won the king of the mountains classification ahead of Tadej Pogacar. Not only that, he did the same at Itzulia Bazque Country earlier in the season. So, will Bruno Armirail continue his king of the mountains streak at the Tour?
Ben Healy (EF Education - EasyPost)
Another rider who absolutely loves the brutal battle of the breakaway, Ben Healy. The 24-year-old Irishman already has won one grand tour stage, back at the 2023 Giro d’Italia, from the breakaway. With the attacking nature of the EF Education – Easypost team, especially now Richard Carapaz is out of the race, it is almost a given that Healy will be involved in a lot of breakaways this July. With the talent that he possesses to attack from so far out, could he succeed with a stage victory or perhaps include a fight for the polka dot jersey?
Lennert Van Eetvelt (Lotto)
The 23-year-old Belgian is well tailored for the majority of the terrain at the Tour and will be Lotto’s designated GC rider. His form is a big question mark, but he definitely obtains the talent to be involved in the scrap for the general classification as well as stages. If he is to drop out of the battle for the top ten in the GC, then expect to see Van Eetvelt involved in the battle for the king of the mountains jersey as an alternative, which perhaps could be a greater success?
