1. Laurence Pithie (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe)
Laurence Pithie is in excellent form, there is no doubt about that. The Kiwi consistently thrives after a demanding, punchy day in the saddle, and he has already proven it in 2026. In his final race before the first Monument of the season, he impressed at Paris-Nice with a second place on stage 2, followed by fourth and fifth place finishes on other stages, underlining his strong condition.
What has stood out most is his climbing. The 23-year-old was right at the front on several key ascents in Paris Nice, a crucial indicator given the explosive finale in Sanremo.
At just 400 credits, you are getting a rider with a very realistic shot at a top ten finish. He has been close in previous editions, and with his fast sprint, Pithie could be set for a standout result in this year’s race.
2. Nicolas Vinokurov (XDS-Astana)
Sticking with the theme of young riders, Nicolas Vinokurov stands out as a budget friendly option at just 200 credits. The Kazakh caught the eye on stage 8 of Paris-Nice, finishing ninth in a select group that included several strong climbers, all while working in support of his Astana teammate Harold Tejada.
Milan-Sanremo is, of course, a very different challenge, but taking a top ten in a WorldTour stage on such a demanding parcours is a clear signal of his potential. That performance could give Vinokurov the confidence and form needed to surprise in Saturday’s race.
3. Paul Lapeira (Decathlon CMA CGM)
Paul Lapeira is priced at 400 credits in Cycling Fantasy and stands out as another strong value pick, especially given his form in 2026. He started the season impressively at Etoile de Bessèges, finishing second overall, before taking victory at the Tour des Alpes Maritimes ahead of Christian Scaroni. He then backed it up with a fifth place at the Faun Drôme Classic and an eye catching ride at Strade Bianche, where he was part of a front split from just under the 80 kilometre mark and eventually finished 14th.
His teammate Tobias Lund Andresen is also on the start list for the 2026 edition and is one of the most in form sprinters this season. That raises the question of roles. Will Lapeira be working in support? Much will depend on how the race unfolds. If the race proves too tough and Lund Andresen is dropped, Lapeira becomes the natural backup option for Decathlon, which makes him well worth the 400 credit investment.
4. Luke Lamperti (EF Education-EasyPost)
2026 has marked a breakout season for young American Luke Lamperti, who claimed his first WorldTour stage victory on the opening stage of Paris-Nice and enjoyed a stint in the yellow jersey. What stood out in that win was his ability to stay fresh after a hard race, a quality that will be crucial in a demanding finale like Milan-Sanremo.
If the forecasted wind conditions hold, Lamperti has the potential to push for a top ten finish in the Monument. At just 200 credits, he represents another low risk, high upside pick that could well pay off on Saturday.
5. Magnus Cort Nielsen (Uno-X Mobility)
A sixth place finish in 2025, along with multiple previous top ten results in Milan-Sanremo, makes Magnus Cort a strong value pick at 400 credits. The Dane has not raced since February, which raises some questions about his form, but there is no doubt about his quality or his suitability for this Monument. With solid climbing ability and a fast finish, he has all the tools needed for a race like this.
Backed by a strong team, Cort should be well positioned heading into the finale, so positioning is unlikely to be an issue. If things fall into place, he has every chance of fighting for another top ten finish, just like the other riders mentioned.
