Visma | Lease a Bike 2026 Tour de France: Vingegaard aims to complete Giro-Tour double
Jonas Vingegaard completed the first part of his Giro-Tour double quest with an emphatic victory in Italy back in May. Now, the Dane faces the tougher second half where he will need to dethrone his eternal rival Tadej Pogacar at the Tour for the first time since 2023. Here's a look at who will feature for Visma | Lease a Bike at the 2026 Tour de France.

2025 Tour de France:
- 2025 Tour stage wins: 2
- 2025 Best GC finish: 2nd - Jonas Vingegaard
2026 objectives:
The ambition for Visma | Lease a Bike is clear, and that is to win the Tour with Jonas Vingegaard for the first time since 2023.
In a preview show announcing the Tour squad, Visma's Race Coach and soon-to-be Head of Racing, Marc Reef, outlined the clear ambition and the current feelings within the squad.
"A really motivated Jonas, he's in a good mood, he's won already Paris-Nice, Catalunya and the Giro, and with that vibe, we go into the Tour de France," said Reef.
"We want to win, that's clear. It starts immediately on day 1 with a very important team time trial where it also shows how strong you are as a team, not only the riders on the bike, but the whole organisation behind," added Reef.
Having won the Giro d'Italia in May, Vingegaard has completed the first part of what could be a potential Giro-Tour double. The Dane will need to overcome the force that is Tadej Pogačar, but is flanked by a strong Visma squad which includes three teammates that supported him to victory in Italy.

🇩🇰 Jonas Vingegaard (29):
Since making his Tour de France debut in 2021, Jonas Vingegaard has never finished lower than second overall, claiming back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023. While he was beaten in the last two editions, the Dane has since added the Vuelta a España in 2025 and the Giro d'Italia in 2026 to his palmarès.
Vingegaard has enjoyed a flawless 2026 campaign so far, winning Paris-Nice, the Volta a Catalunya and the Giro, along with nine stage victories. By winning the Giro on debut, he completed the full set of Grand Tour titles, becoming just the eighth rider to do so. It also leaves him with the chance to achieve the coveted Giro-Tour double, a feat accomplished by only seven riders.
Standing in his way is long-time rival Tadej Pogačar, whom he has faced only once since their Tour showdown last summer. The gap between the pair in Paris was 4:24 in 2025, down from 6:17 the year before.
Vingegaard's build-up to the previous two Tours was far from ideal. A serious crash at Itzulia Basque Country in 2024 left him with a broken collarbone, multiple fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, while a crash at Paris-Nice in 2025 resulted in a concussion.
This year, however, he arrives at La Grande Boucle after an uninterrupted build-up. Vingegaard has previously expressed confidence that he can perform even better in a second Grand Tour of the season, and whether that belief translates into reality could be one of the defining factors of this year's race.
Victory would also put him on the brink of another slice of history. Having already won the Giro and holding the Vuelta title, Vingegaard could become the first rider since Chris Froome in 2018 to hold all three Grand Tour titles simultaneously.
🇺🇸 Matteo Jorgenson (26): Expected to serve as Vingegaard's right-hand man, Matteo Jorgenson possesses the quality to lead many teams in his own right. The American rebounded impressively from the fractured collarbone he suffered at the Amstel Gold Race in April, finishing fourth overall at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
🇫🇷 Bruno Armirail (32): The only Frenchman in Visma's Tour squad, Bruno Armirail is one of the team's most underrated assets. A three-time national time trial champion, the 32-year-old is also a dependable climber and will likely spend much of July setting the pace on mountain ascents and valley roads in support of Vingegaard.
🇧🇪 Victor Campenaerts (34): A Tour stage winner in 2024, Victor Campenaerts has slotted seamlessly into the team since joining in 2025. He has already amassed 80 race days alongside Vingegaard and was a key part of the Dane's Giro-winning support cast earlier this season.
🇮🇹 Davide Piganzoli (23): The 23-year-old climber played a crucial role in Vingegaard's Giro triumph while still finishing eighth overall himself and is a late call-up to the Tour squad. Piganzoli is set to make both his Tour de France debut and his first appearance in a second Grand Tour within the same season, with an important role to play in the mountains just like he did in the Giro.
🇳🇴 Per Strand Hagenes (22): Not originally anticipated to be in the Tour squad, Per Strand Hagenes makes the step up and will have the role of trying to fill the significant void left by the injured Christophe Laporte and Wout van Aert in what will be his Grand Tour debut.
🇮🇹 Edoardo Affini (30): The Italian made his debut at the Tour last year and proved to be a valuable teammate in helping Vingegaard navigate the chaos of the opening week. Affini also finished third on the individual time trial, underlining why he is a former European Champion in the discipline.
🇺🇸 Sepp Kuss (31): The former Vuelta a España winner has been Vingegaard's most trusted mountain lieutenant throughout his Grand Tour successes. Yet even while riding in support, Kuss remains capable of seizing his own opportunities, as shown by his Tour stage victory in 2021 and his recent triumph on the Giro's queen stage.
