The stage starts neutralised in Montpellier at 12:10 CET and is expected to finish at 16:44 atop Mont Ventoux. After a flat run through the Rhône Valley, the race will explode into life on the brutal slopes of the iconic Giant of Provence - 15.8 km at 8.6%, with exposed sections and a headwind in the final kilometres.
