Stage 12 of the 2026 Vuelta a España runs 166.6km from Vera to Calar Alto on Thursday, the hardest day of the second week with 4,475 metres of climbing across five categorised ascents. The category one Alto de Velefique, 13.1km at 7.2 per cent, summits with 31km to go before a fast descent to the foot of Calar Alto, 17km at 5.6 per cent to a finish above 2,100 metres.
