Almost 4,900 metres of elevation gain packed across five categorised ascents including a double passage over the Category 1 Puerto de El Purche, the steep Puerto de El Duque, and an unprecedented Hors Catégorie summit finish up Collado del Alguacil (8.3km at 9.8%) leave GC contenders with their ultimate arena to overturn the general classification.
