17 development teams confirmed for revamped Tour de l'Avenir
The development teams for the prestigious under-23 fixture have been confirmed by the race organisers for the revamped edition in 2026. Paul Seixas is the current champion after victory in 2025, representing the French national team.

The Tour de l'Avenir will feature both development and national teams in 2026, and the 17 development teams for the race have been confirmed. The Tour de l’Avenir is one of the most prestigious under-23 stage races on the calendar and has served as a tool for revealing future Tour de France contenders.
Seven winners of the Tour de l’Avenir have gone on to win the Tour de France, including, most recently, Tadej Pogačar, who won the race in 2018 before going on to win four Tours de France.
Since 2007, the race has been contested solely between national teams, but this will change for the upcoming edition.
On January 15, the race confirmed it will be open to development teams in 2026 and announced an initial list, including: Bahrain Victorious Development Team, Development Team Picnic PostNL, EF Education Aevolo, Ineos Grenadiers Racing Academy, Lidl-Trek Future Racing, Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe Rookies, Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team, Tudor Pro Cycling Team U23, Visma Lease a Bike Development Team, UAE Team Emirates Gen-Z
On February 6, more development teams were confirmed by the race organisers, including Alpecin-Premier Tech Development Team, Decathlon CMA CGM Development team, Groupama-FDJ United CT, Hagens Berman Jayco, Lotto-Groupe Wanty, Movistar Team Academy, XDS Astana Development Team.
The 2026 edition of the Tour de l’Avenir will take place on August 19 to 27, and the list of national teams participating will be confirmed in March.
