The race opens at 16:15 (CEST), with Albion Kastrati of Kosovo the first of 44 riders to take on the course in Šenčur. The early starters include riders from across the nations represented, before the spotlight shifts towards the leading contenders in the second half of the schedule.

Mathias Vacek rolls down the ramp at 16:43 (CEST), with Marco Brenner starting at 16:45 and Mauro Schmid at 16:46. Michał Kwiatkowski gets underway at 16:48, before Iván Romeo starts at 16:52 and home favourite Primož Roglič at 16:54. The biggest focus, however, will be on Callum Thornley at 16:55, Kasper Asgreen at 16:56 and Worlds bronze medallist Stefan Küng at 16:57, with Jakob Söderqvist the last man off at 16:58.

Küng looks the leading contender on a 22.1-kilometre course carrying 391 metres of climbing, having won the Vuelta time trial in Jerez last month and finished third behind Remco Evenepoel and Filippo Ganna in Montréal. Evenepoel, who took the European road title in a photo finish on Sunday, does not ride.
