Rune Herregodts (UAE Team Emirates - XRG) won a thrilling edition of the Belgian Men's Elite Road Race after winning a three-up sprint ahead of Jonas Rickaert (Alpecin-Premier Tech) in second and Fabio Van den Bossche (Soudal Quick-Step) in third.

Belgium WE - Shari Bossuyt (AG Insurance-Soudal)

Shari Bossuyt (AG Insurance Soudal) sprinted to the Belgian title after 137km of racing in Brasschaat.

Bossuyt outsprinted two-time former World Champion Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) and Sandrine Tan (Lotto-Intermarché Ladies)

France ME - Romain Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ)

Romain Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ) punched his way to the French road race title in La Tour-du-Pin, twelve months after having to settle for second.

Grégoire launched his explosive race-winning attack with 3.2km remaining, distancing a selective group with whom he had previously formed an alliance.

Paul Lapeira (Decathlon CMA CGM) claimed the silver medal while Joris Delbove (TotalEnergies) took bronze.

France WE - Célia Gery (FDJ United-Suez)

Célia Gery became the French road race champion with a fine performance in La Tour-du-Pin.

The 20-year-old multi-disciplined star claimed her fourth victory of 2026, adding to a rapidly growing palmares that includes wins at Brabantse Pijl, the GP Chambéry and a stage of the Giro d'Italia.

The race-winning move came with just over three kilometres when Gery powered clear from a selective group on an uphill rise, launching an acceleration which nobody could match.

Gery finished five seconds ahead of Cédrine Kerbaol (EF Education-Oatly), while Émilie Morier (St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93) rounded out the podium.

Denmark ME - Magnus Cort (Uno-X Mobility)

Magnus Cort (Uno-X Mobility) powered his way to victory in the Danish road race championships in Herning for the first time in his professional career.

The 33-year-old beat Anders Foldager (Jayco AlUla) to the Danish title, while Cort's teammate Anthon Charmig (Uno-X Mobility) joined him on the podium in third. Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) ended the race in fifth.

Cort announced on Saturday that he will be retiring at the end of the season, meaning this marked his final national championships appearance.

Great Britain ME - Fred Wright (Pinarello Q36.5)

Fred Wright (Pinarello Q36.5) pipped Lewis Askey (NSN) in a nail-biting finale to the 2026 British Men's Road Race in Aberystwyth to take the second British Road title of his career. Connor Swift (Ineos) finished just behind the pair to take third.

Great Britain WE - Zoe Bäckstedt (Canyon//Sram)

Zoe Bäckstedt (Canyon//Sram) won the British road race championships in Aberystwyth on Sunday after a hard-fought battle against Josie Knight (DAS-Hutchinson).

Knight, who held an advantage of well over six minutes at one point over the peloton, posed a dangerous threat and looked to be heading towards the British stripes. Bäckstedt attacked from the peloton inside the final 50km and soloed her way towards Knight. The catch was made with 15km remaining, and Bäckstedt quickly went clear to complete the British double, adding to her time trial victory a few days earlier.

Knight held on for a well-earned silver, while Millie Couzens (Fenix Premier Tech) rounded the podium from the reduced chasing pack behind after winning the title last year.

Italy ME - Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek)

Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) delivered on his pre-race favourite tag, sprinting to victory in Cuneo to become Italian road race champion for the first time in his career.

The Lidl-Trek rider was well supported throughout the race by a strong core of Lidl-Trek riders, but had plenty of work to do in the closing kilometres to avoid being caught out of position or by a late attack.

Tommaso Dati (UKYO) sprinted to second place, while Alessandro Romele (XDS Astana) rounded out the podium.

Italy WE - Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ)

For the fourth year running and seventh time as a professional, Elisa Longo Borghini claimed the Italian road race title.

Longo Borghini claimed victory in Pordenone ahead of Monica Trinca Colonel (Liv AlUla Jayco) and Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek) in third.

Netherlands ME - Wilco Kelderman (Visma | Lease a Bike)

Wilco Kelderman (Visma | Lease a Bike) soloed to victory in the Dutch road race championships in Dal to take his first victory in 11 years.

The VIsma rider was part of a select group before he decided to go solo with 65km remaining. The competition would not catch the 35-year-old as he powered his way to the Dutch stripes and ended one of the longest winning droughts in the peloton.

Bauke Mollema (Lidl-Trek) soloed to the silver medal, while Jochem Kerckhaert (Beat CC p/b Saxo) won a small group sprint for third.

Kelderman’s last win was the Dutch time trial championships back in 2015.

Spain ME - Marcel Camprubí (Pinarello-Q36.5)

Marcel Camprubí (Pinarello-Q36.5) claimed his first professional victory by winning the Spanish road race Championships in Sabiñánigo. The Pinarello-Q36.5 rider worked his way into a selective move alongside Joel Nicolau and Urko Berrade on the attritional course.

In the uphill sprint to the line, Nicolau launched his effort first, with Camprubí clinging onto his wheel before finding the power to come past and take the victory. Berrade rounded out the podium.

Spain WE - Mireia Benito (AG Insurance-Soudal)

Mireia Benito (AG Insurance-Soudal) won the Spanish road title for the first time in her career, to add to her time trial victory a few days earlier.

Benito claimed the Spanish jersey after finishing two seconds ahead of the Movistar duo Sara Martín and Paula Ostiz.

United States ME - Quinn Simmons (Lidl-Trek)

Quinn Simmons (Lidl-Trek) retained the US road title with a dominant solo victory in Charleston.

The 25-year-old attacked with 29 kilometres remaining and finished more than two minutes ahead of Kevin Vermaerke (UAE Team Emirates-XRG, with Larry Warbasse (United States) taking third. It is Simmons’ third national road title after previous wins in 2023 and 2025.

United States WE - Kate Courtney (She Sends Racing)

Kate Courtney claimed the Stars and Stripes for the first time on the road, adding to her two national titles in MTB.

The MTB star sprinted to victory in Charleston ahead of another multi-discipline rider, national gravel champion Lauren Stephens (Aegis x Leaders of Enchantment). Stephens teammate Grace Arlandson rounded out the podium in third.

Tadej Pogacar - 2025 - Tour de France stage 12
