Alpecin-Premier Tech on top of the wrong Tour de France leaderboard
Alpecin-Premier Tech currently leads an unwanted classification at the Tour de France. After nine stages, the Belgian team has accumulated more fines than any other squad in the race.

The team has been fined a total of 2,200 CHF, with all penalties involving members of its sports management. Assistant sports director Frederik Willems was responsible for 1,000 CHF after a rider twice disposed of waste outside the designated litter zones during stage 7.
Christoph Roodhooft has added another 1,200 CHF to the total. He was fined 700 CHF during stage 5 for breaching regulations concerning vehicle movements and failing to follow instructions from the organisers or commissaires. During stage 8, Roodhooft received another 500 CHF fine and a yellow card for a further breach of the vehicle movement regulations.
UAE Team Emirates-XRG sits second in the ranking with 1,700 CHF in fines. Decathlon CMA CGM, Groupama-FDJ United and Movistar share third place with 700 CHF each.
Across the opening eight stages, the race jury has handed out a total of 7,300 CHF in financial penalties. Ten teams have received at least one fine.
