Andy Schleck follows brother with return to Lidl-Trek
2010 Tour de France winner, Andy Schleck, has been appointed the Deputy General Manager of the German WorldTour outfit Lidl-Trek.

The 40-year-old from Luxembourg follows in the footsteps of his brother, Fränk Schleck, who joined the Lidl-Trek organisation via a Sports Director role on the Women's WorldTour team. Andy, however, will be deeply involved in both the sporting and business aspects of Lidl-Trek with his newly appointed Deputy General Manager role.
According to the Lidl-Trek press release, Andy Schleck will also be involved in nurturing the team's Grand Tour ambitions and talent, with riders potentially including the likes of Juan Ayuso, Giulio Ciccone, and Mattias Skjelmose.
Schleck in the press release emphasised the importance of creating winning standards, “I’m a big believer in teamwork and leadership," Schleck said. "Whatever I did over the last years, I was always doing well at building up teams. To win the next seasons, it’s the core of the team that’s very valuable and I want to protect that. We’re here to set standards for the future and I believe I can help in achieving that."
Luca Guercilena, Lidl-Trek General Manager, highlighted the immense importance of Schleck's professional cycling career, which included the 2010 yellow jersey, a monument victory at Liège–Bastogne–Liège and a runner-up finish at the Giro d'Italia.
“He has lived the pressure of Grand Tours, worn the yellow jersey, and led teams through the biggest moments in the sport. That experience is invaluable for our riders and our staff, Guercilena said in Lidl-Trek's press release.
Since retiring in 2014, Andy Schleck has been involved in managing a junior women’s team as well as serving as the President of the Tour of Luxembourg, which was won by UAE Team Emirates - XRG rider, Brandon McNulty in 2025.
