Ceratizit Pro Cycling to fold due to costs and 'current economic climate'

The shutters will come down on the Women's WorldTour team after the Maryland Classic on September 6, bringing an end to their long involvement at the top level.

Ceratizit Pro Cycling will cease operations at the end of this season, with the team’s final race set to come at the Maryland Classic on September 6. The German-registered squad, which stepped up to the Women’s WorldTour at the start of the 2024 season, cited rising costs and difficulties in securing additional sponsorship.

“The current economic climate has significantly impacted the ability to maintain a WorldTour team,” manager Claude Sun said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Despite our best efforts to secure new sponsorship, escalating costs and current conditions have made it impossible to continue. It is with deep regret that we confirm the end of Ceratizit Pro Cycling after this season.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to the Ceratizit Group, Orbea and all of our sponsors for a decade of unwavering support, and to all of our riders, staff, and fans for their dedication and passion over the years.”

The team was established in Britain as WNT in 2016 before switching to German registration in 2019, when new signings included Lisa Brennauer and Kirsten Wild. Ceratizit came on board as title sponsor at the start of 2020, with the squad joining the Women's WorldTour four years later.

Ceratizit Pro Cycling competed in all four editions of the Tour de France Femmes, with Cédrine Kerbaol claiming stage victory in Morteau in 2024.

The team’s 14-rider roster for 2025 includes Sarah Van Dam, Mylène de Zoete and Sandra Alonso.

Daniek Hengeveld, who will ride for Visma | Lease a Bike next season, scored their lone WorldTour win of 2025 on the opening day of the Tour Down Under.
