Cofidis have 11 bikes stolen ahead of stage 2 of the Tour de France
A police investigation has been launched after the overnight theft, with the French team decrying the 'act of incivility.'

Cofidis have revealed that they had eleven of their bikes stolen from their team truck following stage 1 of the Tour de France.
The theft did not prevent the team from taking the start of stage 2 to Boulogne-sur-Mer. A police investigation is under way.
In a statement on Sunday, Cofidis outlined that the theft of the eleven bikes had taken place overnight.
“During the night between Saturday and Sunday, the Cofidis team was the victim of a burglary,” read the statement. “The door of the workshop truck was forced open, and eleven of our LOOK Cycle bikes were stolen despite the security measures that had been put in place.
“Members of the police visited the hotel in the morning to assess the crime and begin their investigation. The Cofidis team strongly condemns this act of incivility and calls on the perpetrators to act in a civic-minded and responsible manner.”
It is the second year in succession that a French team has been the victim of such a theft on the Tour, after TotalEnergies suffered a similar incident in 2024.
In 2021, the Italian team at the Track World Championships had more than twenty bikes stolen from their hotel in Lille.
