Del Toro grabs UAE's 82nd win of 2025 with Giro della Toscana exhibition
Mexican talent Isaac del Toro claimed a convincing solo victory at the Giro della Toscana on Wednesday, securing UAE Team Emirates-XRG's remarkable 82nd win of the 2025 season. The 21-year-old attacked on the final climb of Monte Serra to ride alone to the finish in Pontedera.

"I knew the Monte Serra climb would be decisive, so I went full there to test the legs of the others," Del Toro said. "When I saw I had a gap, I just focused on my rhythm all the way to the line."
Del Toro won with a margin of 15 seconds over Michael Storer (Tudor) in second and Steff Cras (TotalEnergies) in third.
The Mexican rider demonstrated exceptional climbing abilities on the challenging Tuscan terrain, successfully distancing himself from his competitors including Richard Carapaz with whom Del Toro had the infamous GC battle with at the 2025 Giro d'Italia. His well-timed attack proved to be the winning move, as he maintained his advantage all the way to the finish.
Despite the challenging conditions, Del Toro credited his team for their support throughout the race. "It was a really hard day, but the team kept me calm and I was able to hang on for the finale," he explained.
The victory in Italy represents a significant achievement for Del Toro, who expressed particular satisfaction at winning in front of the passionate local fans. "To win here in Tuscany, in front of such passionate fans, is something very special. It gives me a lot of confidence for the next races," Del Toro said.
With the win Del Toro's tally for the season has now gone to nine victories with the win in Tuscany following his victory GP Industria & Artigianato. UAE Emirates-XRG have also broken their own team victory record of 81 team wins from the 2024 season, and there are now just three wins off equalling HTC's mark of 85 wins from 2009.
Del Toro will continue to partake in his run of Italian Autumn classics, before the Mexican heads to Rwanda to challenge for a top result with a potential scrap between his UAE Team Emirates-XRG teammate, Tadej Pogačar.
