Domestique has strengthened its editorial team as it continues to grow and develop, with Stephen Farrand joining as Editor-at-Large.

Stephen is one of the most experienced and respected journalists in the sport and is widely known in the bike industry. He previously worked at Cyclingnews, Cycling Weekly and for the global news agency Reuters. He also spent time at the Shift Active Media communications agency.

Domestique launched in June 2025 following a successful crowdfunding campaign and has quickly grown into one of the leading international platforms for professional cycling coverage. Through its own platform and social media channels, Domestique brings fans closer to the sport with timely, engaging and in-depth coverage of the world of pro cycling.

Over the coming years, Domestique aims to become the central destination for cycling fans worldwide. A place where they can stay on top of everything happening in the sport, but also actively become part of the platform itself. By creating new ways for fans to engage, participate and connect, Domestique wants to help them experience their favourite sport in a deeper and more meaningful way.

Stephen will work alongside Domestique Founder Michiel van Looijengoed, Editor-in-chief Barry Ryan and the editorial team. He will also help with business development and content strategy.

"I'm incredibly pleased to have Stephen join our team," Michiel van Looijengoed said.

"With his many years of experience, and with Barry Ryan already on board, we have a strong journalistic foundation from which to build on everything we have created at Domestique.

"Stephen's arrival marks an important next step in our development, with a greater focus on original reporting, exclusive stories and breaking news.

Stephen is based in Italy and is a member of the Board of the Association Internationale des Journalistes du Cyclisme (AIJC).

"I'm happy to join the Domestique team and so begin a new exciting chapter in my career," Stephen said.

"I hope to help Domestique grow and provide fans of the sport with the best news, interviews and analysis from the world of pro cycling and beyond."
