Evenepoel finally starts vacation after hectic team transfer period
Remco Evenepoel will begin his long-awaited vacation in the coming weeks following a busy transition period to his new team, Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe, as he revealed during an event with his R.EV Brussels Cycling Academy in Schepdaal on Wednesday.

"I haven't had much of an offseason yet, to be honest," Evenepoel admitted to VTM. "I had a lot of team commitments and had to go to America and Salzburg a few times. It only really became the offseason a few days ago, and from now on it's two or three weeks of vacation and good rest."
The Olympic time trial champion's move from Soudal Quick-Step has kept his schedule packed with obligations. His trip to the United States focused primarily on wind tunnel testing with bike sponsor Specialized, for whom he also serves as an ambassador.
Leo Menville of Specialized said noted Evenepoel's exceptional work ethic during these sessions. "Remco's days were very busy, but he often wants to do even more. His dedication and attention to detail are impressive," the staff member revealed. "He's as precise as an F1 driver."
While attending Wednesday's youth cycling event, Evenepoel surprised young talents at his academy in his hometown of Schepdaal. Though his professional schedule limits his direct involvement with the project, he maintains oversight while his father, Patrick and other coaches handle day-to-day training.
"But if decisions really need to be made, I'll have my say," he told VTM regarding his role with the academy.
The Belgian star will now enjoy two to three weeks of complete rest before beginning preparations for his first season with Red Bull-BORA-Hansgrohe in 2026, where it is still undecided which Grand Tour Evenepoel will aim for, with the Tour de France parcours doing Evenepoel no favours.
