Speed skating to pro cycling

Lennart Jasch has been promoted to Tudor Pro Cycling’s professional team with immediate effect, completing a rapid rise through the ranks after starting the season with the development squad.

The 25-year-old German made his mark this year by winning the queen stage of the Tour of the Alps from a breakaway.

Jasch had originally joined Tudor’s development team for the 2026 season following a successful stint with the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe Rookies, where he claimed a stage win and the general classification at the Giro della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Growing up near Rosenheim in Bavaria, Jasch’s first sporting passion was speed skating, and he was part of the German national team until 2023, when a muscular injury interrupted his career, leading to a transition to cycling.

His rapid rise in the sport is something that Jasch himself still finds difficult to comprehend as he signs his first professional contract with immediate effect.

“When I look back, I can hardly believe it myself sometimes, just how much has happened since entering the world of cycling in 2024. I’m absolutely delighted to join the Pro Team now," said Jasch in an official statement.

Jasch will line up for his first World Tour race at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (Critérium du Dauphiné), which begins on June 7. Given his impressive showing at the Tour of the Alps, the German should feel right at home in the high mountains.

“The Tour Auvergne Rhône-Alpes will be my first race at WorldTour level and also my longest stage race to date," explained Jasch. "I’m looking forward to the experience and hope that I can support the Team as best I can."

Suter steps away from road

Tudor confirmed that Jasch will replace Swiss rider Joel Suter in the team’s 2026 road roster.

Suter sustained a concussion in January 2024 at the Grand Prix La Marseillaise. Following a period of recovery, he was medically cleared to return to racing. However, he never fully regained the same racing sensations over the following years, and a decision regarding his future was ultimately made during the Tour de Romandie.

Suter made the step up to WorldTour level with UAE Team Emirates-XRG in 2022 from Bingoal Pauwels Sauces WB, and spent a season in the top division.

During this campaign, Suter became the Swiss time trial champion, marking the first victory of his professional career.

He then switched to Tudor for the 2023 season, accumulating 115 race days over three and a half seasons.

This season, Suter raced WorldTour events including Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Amstel Gold Race and the Santos Tour Down Under, as well as Romandie.

While Suter had previously signed a contract extension through the end of 2026, he will no longer compete on the road for the team. Tudor confirmed that both parties have reached a mutual agreement for Suter to shift his focus entirely to gravel racing for the remainder of the season.
